RECYCLING IS EASY

Setting up and maintaining a home recycling center is fast and simple. The time required per household is approximately two minutes per day. The amount of space required to store recyclables for an entire month is about a 3’ x 3’ area in a garage, on the porch, in the pantry, under the sink, in a corner of the kitchen, etc.

Allied Waste provides an easy way to recycle! The new 2-Container Recycling Program allows you to place clean paper in one and co-mingled bottles, cans and plastic in the other (see recycling list below)! Remember, the more you recycle, the less you will pay in trash fees and San Mateo County will continue to be a cleaner and more environmentally friendly place to live. If you ever have any recycling-related questions, please send Allied Waste an email or call (650) 592-2411.

If you have more recyclables than can fit in your containers, put your mixed paper into paper grocery bags and - as long as paper is kept separate - co-mingled bottles, cans and plastics can be placed in either of the recycling containers (no matter how the container is labeled).
If you are providing your own recycling container please note it must not weigh more than 60 pounds.
Place containers at the curb by 6:00 a.m. and clear of obstructions.
Your recycle driver cannot service your container if it includes trash or any other non-recyclable item.
